All my life I have been always running low on self-love. It was like a black cloud on top of my head that made me feel undeserving of the present moment. I was stuck in negative self-talk that did not allow me to enjoy life to its fullest and was harming my relationships.

In the last five years, I took an active course towards understanding what brings this state of mind and how I can manage it. I became intentional about exposing myself to videos and podcasts that lift me up and help me get to know myself better. My goal was to understand how to feel good in my own skin while accepting myself as I am. I was trying to understand what my core values are, how to live being true to them and what are some unhelpful thoughts that I was keeping inside.

The majority of the content which helped me on this journey was made by the people below. My New Pins are 1-min read nuggets that have taken me one step closer to feeling better in some area of my life. NewPin.ch is my big thank you to them. These are my go-to’s, which I would recommend to anybody willing to get some high quality actionable tips for a change in a better direction.

Matt Walker is a professor of neuroscience and psychology, whose life mission is to understand impact of sleep on human health and disease. The enthusiasm with which he talks about sleep makes you immediately feel so much respect about how nature made human beings and the way he presents his research insights is very engaging and understandable by everybody. He delivers really useful content on different topics related to sleep and helps us understand our bodies and minds through a new perspective. His smile and engaging tone sometimes brings me a memory of a small and listening to a bed time story. His findings are incredibly interesting and I often listen to his voice before sleep in order to calm and relax my brain and let it do its magical recovery through a restful night of sleep.

P.S. Sometimes I feel I want to work in a company which simply does sleep marketing and promotes people’s focus on getting enough sleep regularly instead of boasting on how little sleep they can run.
