The “Fortunately – Unfortunately” Game

This is a strategy to teach kids to always see something good in any situation, especially when it is unfavorable. For example, you travel and you lose one of your suitcase, you can say:

  • Unfortunately, we don’t have our pajamas for tonight. Fortunately, there are still open shops around where we can go and get the most needed things until our suitcase arrives.

Think about all the ways you can apply this. If you do it regularly, you might start noticing that once you say “Unfortunately…” your kid will already have proposals to finish the sentence.

What a great habit to develop from early childhood!
